Committees
How Will You Be
Involved In Your Church?
Opportunities abound for new involvement and continuing
involvement on one of our many church committees. Your
attendance and stewardship make our church the welcoming,
thriving, and exciting church it is. This is an opportunity for
you to share your talents
with others, and to meet and work with some people you may not
know well.
Listed below are committees and the committee
chairs. Please contact the chair for meeting dates
and times, and for any
further information.
Auction Committee
The auction committee promotes the church's major fun-raising
activity. The "offering and purchasing" of
non-tangible items include dinners, hikes, book discussions,
game nights etc We have a
short burst of activity around auction time. From November on
we meet one evening a month
until the actual auction. We want new people
with new ideas! To volunteer, contact
co-chairs,
Karen
Hoffman and
Ravel
Richardson.
Altar Guild
Taking care of the altar is a long-time honored tradition at St.
Barnabas. Volunteers make a meaningful contrubuiton to the
sacramental life of the church by caring for the linens,
communion vessels, and candle. Members work in teams one
week a month. The time commitment is minimal and
you have the satisfaction of
knowing that you are making a direct contribution to the
services. To volunteer for this key committee, contact
chair,
Rhondda
Grant.
Communications
Committee
This committee’s work is two- fold: (1) To increase the image
and awareness of St.
Barnabas in the larger community (Capitol Hill and Episcopal
community), and (2) to help
parishioners connect with programs and activities at St.
Barnabas. The Communications Committee also publishes the
Steeple Bell and maintains the website and bulletin boards.
If you enjoy writing or are artistic, this is the committee for
you. Contact
Timothy Hepp
or Mary
Kelly O'Donnell, co-chairs, for more information.
Finance Committee

on track with the budget.

planned in advance. To participate, please contact the
Rev. Deb Angell.

Committee members greet newcomers and assist them in becoming a
part of the church community. For more information, contact
vestry liaison,

the Alternative Market held during Advent season.

to one of the non-profit agencies represented at the market such
as Gathering Place, St. Francis Center, Urban Peak, Family
Homestead etc. A gift card from the Alternative Market is
the perfect gift for those who have everything.
